As with our recent superb A Level performance, Portadown College is delighted to celebrate another year of excellent GCSE results, with one fifth of all grades awarded at A* and 51% at A* and A. It is most pleasing that 98% of all students secured 7 or more A* – C grades at GCSE.
Alongside the College’s collective success, a number of our young people enjoyed particularly noteworthy personal performances. Special congratulations to 9 students on attaining a full suite of 10A* grades apiece:
Scarlett Baxter, Jessie Best, Matthew Doyle, Charlotte Eagle, Katie Jones, Thea Liggett, Tommy McCallen, Rebekah Shortt and Eva Taylor.
Congratulations also to 38 students who secured an excellent combination of 10 A and A* grades, with a further 20 attaining a minimum of 9 A and A* grades.
On behalf of Governors and College staff, I extend heartfelt congratulations to our GCSE class of 2021. In the face of considerable challenges over the last 18 months, they have worked exceptionally hard and should be justly proud of their achievements. I commend them for their determination, commitment and talent. I also wish to pay tribute to the College’s dedicated staff, as well as our very supportive parents and carers, who have played a significant part in our students’ success. The excellent outcomes secured by our students will open doors to many opportunities as they take the next steps in their educational pathways.
