The first event organised by Lifeline in September this year was a sponsored walk for years 11&12 followed by a coffee morning for years 13&14. Year 14 then planned an afternoon of PC TV – this proved to be very popular and the students found it incredibly entertaining as staff and students took part in The Masked Singer, In for a Penny and I’m a Celebrity. Term one finished with the annual Table Quiz organised by year 13 Lifeline students. As usual, it became highly competitive and was a lovely way to end the term.
In the second term we held a non- uniform day along with our very own PC has Talent, showcasing some amazing talent here in PC. Our year 13 Concern ambassadors also organised a Fast and are planning an alternative Bingo event for years 11&13 when all the examinations are completed.
When we returned after our Easter Break we held our Sixth Form Colour Run – the students had a great afternoon getting covered in paint.
Charities supported this year include Praxis Mental Health, Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation, Pretty’n’Pink, Marie Curie, Cancer Fund for Children, CAHMS, PIPS, Air Ambulance, Action Cancer, the NI Children’s Hospice, Ripples, Alzheimer’s Society NI, Chest, Heart and Stroke, Plan International, NI Hospice, Alopecia UK, MND, Marie Curie and the Southern Area Hospice.
Lifeline also organised a number of community events. These include a collection for our local foodbank, visiting local care homes, donating shoe boxes to Samaritan’s Purse and this year also saw the return of our ever popular Senior Citizens’ Concert
Year 11 and 12 decided to raise awareness in PC of the importance of being kind. They spoke in assembly about the importance of being kind and how it benefits all of us. They organised Sponge the Teacher and a highly competitive dodgeball competition. They also made out kindness cards and gave them to all staff and students to remind them of the importance of being kind.
Many thanks to everyone who helped during the year and came along to support our events.
