Eight Year 13 History students (Olivia Shepherd, Luke McKinney, Ella Duke, Ellie-Jane Quinn, Chantelle Maguire, Becky Anderson, Mihnea Citea, and Chloe Hanlon) were given the amazing opportunity to work with the Lessons from Auschwitz Project.
They took part in two live online seminars with other schools in Northern Ireland and were able to use virtual reality to explore different locations in Auschwitz-Birkenau. The sessions included meeting a survivor from the camps called Eve Kugler. The project deepened the students’ realisation of the suffering that many innocent people had to endure in WW2 concentration camps. They hope to share this learning experience with as many people as possible to help spread awareness.
